We are reaching out about an exciting Permanent opportunity in St Sampson, Guernsey: Associate Director, Finance with our client, a progressive organisation within the Trust sector. As a key member of our client’s team, you will work closely with the Finance Director, overseeing internal finance operations, consolidated reporting, budgeting and supporting strategic business planning, all within a friendly and forward-thinking environment.

Key Skills

  • Extensive internal finance technical knowledge – applying deep expertise to oversee complex accounting, reporting and control frameworks.

  • Data implementation and visualisation – managing raw data and leveraging visualisation tools to deliver clear, insightful management information.

  • Senior leadership and people development – leading Finance Managers and Assistant Managers, setting expectations and nurturing a high-performance culture.

  • Process and control improvement – identifying inefficiencies and driving automation, transformation and enhanced governance across the finance function.

  • Strategic and commercial mindset – supporting cost control, recovery and profitability while aligning finance activity with wider business goals.

What you’ll do

  • Provide strategic oversight of the finance function and act as an escalation point for complex matters.

  • Lead, support and develop the finance management team to drive high performance.

  • Monitor workflow, capacity and utilisation to ensure deadlines are consistently met.

  • Lead improvements to processes, systems and controls, including automation initiatives.

  • Support budgeting, performance monitoring and contribute to strategic business planning.

What you’ll need

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior internal finance management role.

  • Proven experience implementing and managing data visualisation solutions.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.

  • Ability to manage complex documentation, legislation and transactions with high accuracy.

  • Demonstrated critical analysis skills to review processes and present ideas to the Board.
